Description:Full red smooth calf over boards (manufactured approximately 1930), sides with rectangle and corner-pieces,spine richly gilt with 5 raised bands, leading edges of sides partly gilt, roll-tooled gilt inner fillets (hardcover), 24,5 x 16 cms., marbled endpapers, aquatint frontispiece, xvi, 272 pp. including 8 text-woodcuts (plus one in title-page) by John Thompson (1785-1866), 26 colour aquatint plates by Theodore Lane, all edges gilt.
Note:First Edition. Bookplate of Mexborough mounted on pastedown. Year of publication [1825] erased. Two text-pages very slightly frayed. Edges of marbled endpapers browned. One plate shows a vague fold to blank edge. Generally in fine condition.
